“Warts and All”

Acrylic on canvas, 3x3”

With the help of some molding paste, this portrait of a toad based on a photo I took really came to life. The eyes, warts, and fingers actually feel bumpy, which you can kind of see on the side view. I also put some gloss on the eyes.

Romulus and Remus Suckling She-Wolf. Mini canvas oil painting. First in a series of small creature paintings, each representing parts of Italy I’ve visited (Wolf mother for Rome, lion for Venice, wild boar for Florence, pistrice (sea beast) for Positano).

This painting was made in honor of my older brother, who struggles with addiction, and also for myself—as someone who’s faced mental health challenges due to my disorder. It’s a reminder that pushing through and choosing to keep going can lead to growth and better days.

This is an acrylic painting on a tiny 5x5 cm canvas. It shows a single pink lotus blooming from a small puddle in the middle of a cracked, muddy field at sunrise. It’s a very personal piece about never losing faith in yourself, forgiving the past, and trusting that you can bloom through any challenge—even if the roots or the past weren’t ideal.

As Buddha said: “From the mud of adversity grows the lotus of joy.”

A Pandora and a Primrose moth♡🦋

I think Pandora moths are really metal because they lie buried as babies in the dirt for years, then emerge to be stunning pink fluffy beauties. Their guts are orange. I used to work at a flower nursery and it was Pandora moth season, so they would often be scattered on the ground where people stepped on them.

Whenever I saw one alive, it allowed me to pick it up and move it to a safer place.
